30 years ago, on July 6 at 22:00, an explosion and fire was reported from the offshore oil platform Piper Alpha, about 190 km northeast of Aberdeen. 167 lives were lost that night and it remains one of the worst offshore oil disasters in history which will be imprinted in the memories of many forever. InterDam offers its condolences to the families of the 167 men who died on Piper Alpha.

Many lessons were learned that have since made the oil and gas industry significantly safer than in 1988. Nothing is more important than the safety of those working in these harshest environments.

At InterDam we are striving to further improve the standards and solutions that deliver the safest working environment possible. Our recently introduced fire-post-post blast products provide a new standard of higher protection for people and property in hazardous working locations.
