After the successful test of the non-fire-side mounted sliding door (in the escape tunnel), InterDam has successfully tested the same door, this time mounted on the fire side (in the traffic tunnel). This time a sliding door was mounted in the furnace and tested according to the RWS and HCM fire curves (Rijkswaterstaat + Hydrocarbon Modified). With the furnace reaching a temperature of 1,350 Celsius and the cold face of the door staying below the required 180 Celsius temperature rise for a period of one hour, no breakthrough of flames for 180 minutes and an overpressure of 50Pa maintained, InterDam demonstrated that our tunnel door lives up to our promise of being Your Shield in the Field for tunnel safety.
InterDam has now successfully tested tunnel doors with exposure to fire in the escape tunnel (cold side) and traffic tunnel (hot side).
