While driving south to your holiday destination in the summer, you might have passed the Drechttunnel in the A16 near Dordrecht.
Recently InterDam was awarded the design, manufacture and installation of the escape doors of this tunnel. With the contract award the trust in InterDam was expressed in this challenging project.
The challenge in this project is the extreme short delivery time. Before the end of 2022 all existing doors will be removed and new doors will be installed in order to guarantee a safe haven for people escaping from a possible fire in the tunnel.
The proven InterDam tunnel escape door design has been developed and tested according to the latest standards issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (and Rijkswaterstaat).
The tunnel escape doors are designed and assembled in-house to the highest quality standards and fit perfectly in InterDam’s portfolio of fire- and blast resistant architectural products.
